May the Cake be with you!

Our Story

Josie began decorating cakes in 1997 when she was pregnant with her daughter, Michaela.  She worked for several years in a bakery where she learned many skills, techniques, and recipes that she would carry throughout her career.

She went on to work in the foodservice industry for many years both in front of the house positions and back of the house.

She later went to UW-Baraboo/Sauk County where she would earn an Associate's Degree with an emphasis in Mathematics and Natural Science as well as many academic awards and accolades.

She returned to work in foodservice where she would hone her baking and culinary skills.

In 2019, with Wisconsin Cottage Food Laws on her side, Josie decided to create a Facebook page to sell her baked goods to the public from her home kitchen.

With growing success, the family has converted a separate room in their home, affectionately referred to as "The Cake Lab," in order to keep up with the growing demand of orders.

The Cake Family

Michaela, the oldest daughter, is our social media guru and helps out with some baking and deliveries.

Travis, Josie's husband, on the left, works as a journeyman fabricator for a living and is the best darn delivery guy in the house.

Caenen, Travis and Josie's autistic son, in the middle, helps out with small chores for the business, and he's the sweetest kid you'll meet.
